The Diversity Visa Program (DV Lottery) is a program passed by the American Congress that allows up to 55,000 people each year to obtain a U.S. immigrant visa, also known as a green card. Anyone who meets several simple requirements, such as being at least 18 years old and coming from a qualifying country, can apply. Germany, Austria, and Switzerland are all qualifying countries.
